I worked all morning and coming up to lunchtime my tummy rumbles caused me to start planning dinner for the brood. It's very warm here today so I decided on a homemade quiche with fresh salmon in it...... all very normal and routine so far.....
Off I went to Tesco and bought the supplies I needed, I collected Ruairi on the way back and drove into the driveway of the house. Now, we live very rurally, the nearest shop is about 3 miles away. With nothing but rolling fields between our house and my Mom's which is the other side of the farm.... it gets pitch black at night as there is no light pollution and we can hear foxes bark and pheasants calling out because it is so quiet. So the last thing I was expecting to see greeting me in our driveway was this.....

A little miniature Jack Russell Puppy (bitch).
Teeny tiny and small (much smaller) than the cat.
Eating like a ferocious beast......
or as if she hasn't eaten for awhile
Making friends with our other rescue 'Dukey'.
You will probably say I am mad....... probably pity 'the farmer' for all he has to agree to. But she is such a joyful little thing with the boundless enthusiasm of a puppy. She has a downy belly that begs to be rubbed and the soulful brown eyes of a homeless dog. David has a good idea were she came from..... and is going to square it with them.... they were probably selling her anyway, and she escaped.... what a serendipitous afternoon.......
