the process.........Monday

This week I am going to attempt to show you my weekly process of work......

It will be a daily post.... with photographs of what I do day to day in my Jewellery designing business.  Hopefully it will give you a small insight into what efforts go into making pieces for my shop.

Monday!

I have Ruairi at home today.  While he watches 'Dora the explorer' I alternate between designing and cleaning the house.  An idea might strike and I rush to my breakfast counter where I have this weeks 'work sheet' laid out.

This weeks work sheet.....started!

The Fedex Man has also been this morning with my new silver sheet and supplies.  We are on a first name basis now as he has had the same route for a couple of years :-)  It's a larger delivery as it's the first of the year so far.....

There is nothing more inspiring than a pristine sheet of sterling silver............. ready to be cut into and made into ......something?  That will have to wait until tomorrow though, Tuesday is the first day of the week for me to work at my bench!

I love seeing work in progress shots but always forget until I am almost finished. So many of my designs come out of thin air I rarely have the sketch to show lol!!

Jo.........
Nothing ever works out for me if I don't sketch down the details.... So I have to sketch out all the details. It somehow makes it easier for me. I have a big folder of past 'work sheets'. It's handy to use if I've run out of ideas.
Amy.......
Great! I'll see you tomorrow then!!!
Nicki.............
I spent £593.47... very extravagant I know. I never usually spend that much but all of my supplies seem to run out all at the same time over Christmas. They will last a goooood while. xxx

It's neat to have a peek inside your process, Louise. Your "worksheets" are such a good idea--grouping related designs together in one place like that. I also have to start with a sketch of some sort, but the finished design always looks different from what I've drawn--!

Great idea for a post (or week of posts, I guess!). I also love to see how others work. I think we have a similar process. But I usually sketch on the weekends because Mondays are one of my "work" days when the wee one is in school for 3 hours. Wednesdays, when she's off, is when I clean the house! :)

Can't wait to see the rest of this series.
